The Young Professionals Monthly General Assembly Meeting is every Third Thursday at 6pm at the Anchorage Senior Center. This is a network for 18 - 45 young professionals defined as good at what you do. The Organization provides a multi-ethnic platform for networking and professional development.

Anchorage Urban League Celebrates First Year
Anchorage Urban League introduced themselves to the community at large by presenting the Tenors "Cook, Dixon, & Young" in concert in October. The group presented vocal and instrumental master level classes for 350 high school students. These unique African-American operatic tenors wowed Anchorage's concert audience as they sang operatic arias, Broadway, blues, gospel, Duke Ellington, and medleys of contemporary music. In addition to the concert and classes principal Rodrick Dixon sang musical selections at a special fund raising dinner, several churches and civic organizations.
Most Alaskans are unfamiliar with the National Urban League movement. These programs were an excellent way for the Anchorage Affiliate to bring notice to their mission to empower communities and thus change lives. Photos below are from the concert, post concert reception, and master classes.

The Tenors Cook, Dixon & Young

Cook Dixon & Young are to be accompanied by the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. The Tenors display unrivalled versatility as they slide in and out of seven diverse musical genres without missing a beat. These unique African-American operatic tenors can sing the blues, gospel and Duke Ellington with as much soul and convincingness as they can sing the arias of Verdi and Puccini. What's more they have a ball doing it. Their tenor voices serve all genres well; factor in the excellent showmanship, and viewers are sure to have a delightfully entertaining musical evening.
